Many of you have been curious and inquiring whether or not the
pricing will change here at STR-Racing, due to recent talks of new
tariff laws in the US. We wanted to send out a brief message and
update you all in regards to our stance and plans for the rest of
2018.
First, a brief summary on what has been happening lately in
regards to the new tax laws. On September 17th, 2018 the Office of
the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced that
Section 301 List 3 has been finalized after undergoing extensive
public review by the Section 301 Committee. The finalized
decision is expected to impose: 10% tariff on $200 billion in
US imports from china until December 31st, and is expected
to be effective September 24th, 2018. Furthermore, starting
January 1st, 2019 the tariff is expected to increase from 10%
to 25%.
Based on this information, STR Racing has come to the conclusion
that we will NOT be increasing our prices for the remainder of
2018, despite the increased 10% tariff. We will make another
announcement come January 1st, 2019 as to what our new pricing
structure will based on the 25% tariff increase; so please stay
